“Be joyful.
Grow to maturity.
Encourage each other.
Live in harmony and peace.
Then the God of love and peace will be with you.”
2 Corinthians 13:11
Welcome to Resilient Faith Life! This verse is one that resonated with me several years ago as I was seeking to cast vision over my family in prayer. Now let me be clear, my family looked nothing like this verse at that time. Even now, it still seems like more of an ideal than a reality. But God put it on my heart to meditate on these words as a hope and truth for my life and my family. What if this is God’s best? What if the ideal is attainable in Christ? How does that look in practice? What is does the journey to God’s best look like?
Resilient Faith Life is a blog where I explore these questions and share what I’m learning. Life is messy. There is suffering and struggle. There is pain, grief and loss. But also there is growth, joy and love. How does all of this coexist? I am not unique. My story is not special. Many have suffered greater than I have. Many have faith stories that are far more interesting and awe-inspiring. But I believe we are called to share our stories. Not for our own glory. There is absolutely nothing glorious about me. But instead for the glory of God.
My hope is that my stories will encourage you in your faith and remind you that you are not alone in your struggles. More importantly I hope to glorify Jesus and show the incredible, transformative power of Jesus in us. There is incredible hope in Him. There is peace and joy. Even when our circumstances don’t warrant it. So that is what this blog is all about. One story, one struggle, one challenge at a time, I will explore what it is like to find resilience through the One who gives us hope through faith.
